Reflection of low energy deuterium ions from W

Reflection coefficients R N of deuterium ions from W are measured at low ion energies (E o ∼ 10–400 eV per deuteron) and at both normal and glancing angles ϑ o of ion incidence. At glancing ϑ o the reflection coefficient is close to unity in the range of 10–100 eV, but a small R N reduction with a d...

Description
Summary:Reflection coefficients R N of deuterium ions from W are measured at low ion energies (E o ∼ 10–400 eV per deuteron) and at both normal and glancing angles ϑ o of ion incidence. At glancing ϑ o the reflection coefficient is close to unity in the range of 10–100 eV, but a small R N reduction with a decrease in energy is observed at E o < 30 eV per deuteron. The latter is thought to be related to the chemical interaction of deuterons with the surface.
