Summary: | High resolution monochromated XPS has been used to investigate the surface science of a variety of recycled polyethylene films (both filled and unfilled). The starting materials for these studies were obtained from reclamation and recycling of polyethylene sheets used in large volume in the Horticultural Industry. The level of surface functionalisation and contaminants found in the recycled materials make them potential candidates for both primary and even ‘premium’ recycling opportunities in areas where surface properties are the dominant effect. |
