Superconductivity in the Y-La-Ba-Cu-O system

Substitution of yttrium by lanthanum in YBCO results in only minor variations in physical properties; replacement of barium by lanthanum causes a more dramatic reduction of

c. Structural studies by low temperature neutron powder diffraction reveal a previously unreported distortion of the Cu-O chains in some of these materials. |
