Mechanochemical syntheses of inorganic compounds in neutralization reactions
The possibility of the mechanochemical syntheses using solid reactants of the type: acid/acid anhydride + metal hydroxide/metal carbonate has been investigated. The particular system ( H 2SeO 3 SeO 2 + 2NaOH Na 2CO 3 ) was chosen for the study. The results of mechanochemical syntheses in a planetary...

Summary: | The possibility of the mechanochemical syntheses using solid reactants of the type: acid/acid anhydride + metal hydroxide/metal carbonate has been investigated. The particular system (
H
2SeO
3
SeO
2
+
2NaOH
Na
2CO
3
) was chosen for the study. The results of mechanochemical syntheses in a planetary mill for two of four possible combinations (H
2SeO
3 + Na
2CO
3) and (SeO
2 + NaOH) were presented. Considering X-ray and IC analyses, sodium hydrogen selenite as an intermediary compound and sodium selenite as a final product were obtained during the mechanochemical activation for both systems. Based on the obtained results, the model that describes the possible reaction mechanism appearing during the mechanochemical syntheses has been developed. |
