Summary: | In vitro and in vivo iontophoretic studies were conducted on diclofenac sodium solution, diclofenac diethylammonium solution and Voveran Gel® and enhanced permeation across rat skin was achieved as compared to passive diffusion. A 50% increase in drug permeation was obtained in the in-vitro release studies while a nearly 20% increase in inhibition of oedema was obtained for different formulations of diclofenac in vivo. A linear correlation was found between the log dose and response, validating the bioassay method used in this study. |
