Summary: | In this article the use of neural networks for the adaptive control of temperature in a jacketed vessel in which an exothermic reaction takes place is discussed. Different neural network architectures are compared against a traditional scheme through simulation. The results indicate that the neural network approach can be used to deal with the control of these highly non-linear batch and semibatch chemical processes. |
