Energy distributions of electrons detached in Cl − + noble gas atom collisions
Energy distributions of electrons detached in collisions of Cl − with noble gas atoms were measured for collisional energies of 1500-3000 eV. These distributions were obtained at an electron emission angle of 90° with respect to the C − beam. A time of flight method was used, which provided a high r...

Summary: | Energy distributions of electrons detached in collisions of Cl
− with noble gas atoms were measured for collisional energies of 1500-3000 eV. These distributions were obtained at an electron emission angle of 90° with respect to the C
− beam. A time of flight method was used, which provided a high resolution for low electron energies. An absolute energy calibration was performed with electrons from autodetaching Cl*
− or Xe*
− states. Maxima in the distributions were found at 1 eV. The angular-coupling detachment model was found to be consistent with the experimental data. |
