Summary: | In the first part of the paper the elaboration and application of noise maps are discussed. An answer to the question of whether the use of measuring techniques in the working out of noise maps could be completely dispensed with is also given. In the second part, an attempt is made to set up criteria for the zoning of urban areas or for a regional division of a given territory. In this context, consideration is also given to the question of to what extent, with respect to noise abatement, manufacturing plants may be incorporated in the urban structures. The aim of the present contribution is to present a possible approach to the working out of ‘zoning maps’ which meet the requirements of noise abatement. |
