Transfer hydrogenation of cyclohexanone by rhodium(II) carboxylato complexes containing 1,4-benzodiazepines as nitrogen ligands
Catalytic hydrogen transfer in the cyclohexanone/2-propanol system by complexes formed in situ of Rh 2(OAc) 4 and the nitrogen ligands of 1,4-benzodiazepine (1,4-BD) derivatives 1–8, is studied. The positive relation between k in and (1,4-BD)/Rh ratio indicated the homogeneous nature of the catalyti...

Summary: | Catalytic hydrogen transfer in the cyclohexanone/2-propanol system by complexes formed
in situ of Rh
2(OAc)
4 and the nitrogen ligands of 1,4-benzodiazepine (1,4-BD) derivatives
1–8, is studied. The positive relation between
k
in and (1,4-BD)/Rh ratio indicated the homogeneous nature of the catalytic process, proved by the absence of the inhibiting effect of added mercury (Hg). A promoting effect of hydroxy ions on the rate was established, and the relation between ligand structure and catalytic activity of the complex, expressed by
k
obs and progress curves for the hydrogen transfer process, is discussed. |
