Description
Summary:The bottleneck effect observed in electron spin resonance of GdCu2Si2 compounds was opened by reduction of the number of Gd spins. The present investigations of Gd1 − xYxCu2Si2 systems have been done for very small Gd concentrations to 1 − x = 0.0001 when the ‘unbottlenecked’ limit was reached. Based on these results the (NJSe) value has been estimated (N is the electron state density at the Fermi level, JSe is the exchange coupling constant between conduction electrons and Gd spins). It was found that this value is rather low (∼ 5 × 10−3), one order lower than in most other Gd intermetallic compounds, and it testifies to a very low density of the electron state in ternary RT2X2 compounds.
