Summary: | Total leaf protein conetnts of 70 plant species from 42 dicotyledonous families ranged from 0.2 g% fresh weight in
Dischidia nummularia to 9.4 g% frseh weight in
Bauhinia purpurea. The leaf protein content from some taxonomic groups averaged higher than others. Total leaf protein amino acid patterns of these plants were very similar across the sample. Nevertheless, group by group comparisons showed differences between the amino acid profiles of major taxonomic groups. |
