Effect of a radial thermal gradient on the ovalization of a pipe section

Description
Summary:With a view to developing a global method for the inelastic calculation of thin pipes and elbows, the present paper discusses the ovalization of pipe sections and its interaction with the through-wall thermal gradient. This study provides, from a strain-stress curve of the perfect plastic type, a definition of curves relating a generalized ovalization moment and a generalized ovalization curvature, regarding the radial thermal gradient as a parameter.
