Summary: | The results are given of experiments to determine the efficiency of absorbers in homogeneous uranium-water reactors. The efficiency of one and of a group of cylindrical boron carbide and cadmium rods was studied as a function of the dimensions of the absorbers and of the uranium concentration in the core. The effect of steel cans on the efficiency of the rods is demonstrated. The results of a two-group calculation of the efficiency of a central rod of boron carbide are compared with the experimental data. |
