Summary: | It is suggested that the energy region where virtual nuclear excitation corrections to the elastic electron scattering cross sections should be looked for experimentally is where the first diffraction minimum occurs at large angles. For Ca, Nd and Pb this energy interval is in the vicinity of 120, 60 and 50 MeV, respectively. For the nucleus of Ca the correction to the cross section should be in the range of 5 to 15%. |
