Time reversal invariance in slow neutron capture

Time reversal invariance has been studied by measuring the neutron polarization dependence of γ-γ angular correlation for the 7.79-0.79 MeV cascade in the 35Cl (n,γ) 36Cl reaction. The relative phase of the reduced matrix elements in the mixed electromagnetic transition in 36Cl, caused by the T-noni...

Description
Summary:Time reversal invariance has been studied by measuring the neutron polarization dependence of γ-γ angular correlation for the 7.79-0.79 MeV cascade in the 35Cl (n,γ) 36Cl reaction. The relative phase of the reduced matrix elements in the mixed electromagnetic transition in 36Cl, caused by the T-noninvariant fraction of the nuclear Hamiltonian, was found to be η = (−1.8±2.2) × 10 −3.
