Mean field analysis of lattice gauge theories with scalar matter fields
Using a mean field approximation we obtain phase diagrams for compact QED coupled to scalar field hich carry charge one and two. The results are compared to Monte Carlo data and found to agree qualitatively. The extension to non-abelian model models is discussed briefly.
