Description
Summary:Kaluza-Klein theories possess extra spacetime dimensions which today must be highly compact, but which may have been dynamically important in the very early universe. In the self consistent models of Candelas and Weinberg the universe has to tunnel from some higher dimensional spacetime such as de Sitter space to a lower dimensional state through the nucleation of a bubble. This bubble then decays into the standard hot big bang universe.
