Muon sticking to helium in the muon catalyzed fusion ddμ → μ3He + n

The coefficient of muon sticking to helium in the nuclear fusion reaction ddμ → μ 3He + n from the states ( Iv) = (11) and ( Iv) = (10) of the mesic molecule ddμ is calculated: ω s 0 = 0.133. The mesic molecule wave functions used include the non-adiabatic effects in the motion of the nuclei. With t...

Description
Summary:The coefficient of muon sticking to helium in the nuclear fusion reaction ddμ → μ 3He + n from the states ( Iv) = (11) and ( Iv) = (10) of the mesic molecule ddμ is calculated: ω s 0 = 0.133. The mesic molecule wave functions used include the non-adiabatic effects in the motion of the nuclei. With the shaking off of the muons taken into account the sticking probability ω s = 0.12 is in good agreement with the experimental value ω s = 0.126 ± 0.004.
