Electron scattering from transitional nuclei

Ground-state and transition densities for 5 osmium and platinum isotopes A = 188 − 196 have been measured by electron scattering (q max = 3.2 fm −1), and compared to dynamical Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov calculations performed with a finite-range density- dependent force. Among the various microscopic c...

Description
Summary:Ground-state and transition densities for 5 osmium and platinum isotopes A = 188 − 196 have been measured by electron scattering (q max = 3.2 fm −1), and compared to dynamical Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov calculations performed with a finite-range density- dependent force. Among the various microscopic calculations performed, only the full HFB calculation which allows for the triaxial, γ-soft nature of these nuclei, correctly reproduces the data.
