Description
Summary:An ensemble of free strings may be raised to the Hagedorn temperature with a finite energy density. After this, energy added to the system in an attempt to raise its temperature produces long string; the configuration of the rest of the system is determined by an ordinary thermal distribution at the Hagedorn temperature. These conclusions may be altered by new physics at the string scale.
