Description
Summary:An equation for gluon cascades with recombination 1→2⊕2→1 is derived from the Kolmogorov-Chapman equation and solved. The evolution parameter of the cascade τ depends on the total invariant mass of overlapping jets Q in hadron-hadron collisions (τ∝ log 3 2 Q 2/Λ 2) , an explicit form of the dependence is obtained from QCD. At Q>100 GeV, we predict an approximately double decrease of the mean multiplicity in overlapping jets in hh collisions due to recombination as compared with the calculation on the Bassetto-Ciafaloni-Marchesini formula.
