Production of Higgs bosons in proton colliders. QCD corrections

Gluon fusion is the main production mechanism for Higgs bosons in pp collisions at LHC and SSC. We present the QCD corrections to the fusion cross section in the Higgs mass range below the top-antitop threshold: gg→H(g), gq→Hq and qq̄→Hg. The QCD corrections increase the cross section σ (pp→H) by ab...

Description
Summary:Gluon fusion is the main production mechanism for Higgs bosons in pp collisions at LHC and SSC. We present the QCD corrections to the fusion cross section in the Higgs mass range below the top-antitop threshold: gg→H(g), gq→Hq and qq̄→Hg. The QCD corrections increase the cross section σ (pp→H) by about 50%. [We have also determined the QCD corrections to the gluonic width of the Higgs boson H→gg(g) and gqq̄ which, for the intermediate mass range, can be measured in e +e − colliders. The corrections are large, being of the order of 60%.]
