Color transparency and the vanishing deuterium shadow

Final state interactions in the d( e, e′ np) amplitude are known to depend strongly on the final momentum of the spectator nucleon. We use this feature to show that color transparency effects can be studied at rather low four-momentum transfer Q 2 ≥ 4 (GeV/c) 2. Furthermore, the process d(e, e′N ∗p)...

Description
Summary:Final state interactions in the d( e, e′ np) amplitude are known to depend strongly on the final momentum of the spectator nucleon. We use this feature to show that color transparency effects can be studied at rather low four-momentum transfer Q 2 ≥ 4 (GeV/c) 2. Furthermore, the process d(e, e′N ∗p) , in which the N ∗ is produced in recoil kinematics, is shown to be especially sensitive to the effects of CT.
