Solvent effects on the infra-red spectrum of some ruthenium nitrosyls

The nitrosyl frequencies of some ruthenium compounds of the type RuNO L 2X 3 have been studied in a variety of solvents. The NO stretching frequency varies with the solvent used; the more polar solvents raise the frequency with respect to solutions in n-hexane. For monosubstituted benzenes there is...

Description
Summary:The nitrosyl frequencies of some ruthenium compounds of the type RuNO L 2X 3 have been studied in a variety of solvents. The NO stretching frequency varies with the solvent used; the more polar solvents raise the frequency with respect to solutions in n-hexane. For monosubstituted benzenes there is a linear relationship between the dipole moment of the solvent and the increase in v NO.
