Low temperature structural instability and enhanced superconductivity in the VRu alloy system
Sound velocity measurements indicate a structural transformation at 55°K for the composition (V 0.548Ru 0.452) with near maximum T c in the V-Ru system. The results support the idea that superconductivity is enhanced when structural instabilities occur at low temperatures.
