The combined effects of phonon attenuation and impedance matching on Kapitza resistance

The Kapitza resistance for Cu-HeII has been calculated using an acoustic mismatch theory which includes the effects of transverse waves in the dense helium region at the liquid-solid interface and phonon attenuation in the copper. The impedance matching becomes significant above 0.1 K.
