“Self-consistent” phonons for paupers
The self-consistent Einstein model is suggested as a good starting point for the Koehler self-consistent phonon iterative scheme. Even the first iteration may give an accurate spectrum, with the advantage that no costly numerical Brillouin zone integrations are required.
