Summary:Possible peculiarities of the enhanced infrared absorption spectra of molecules adsorbed on rough surfaces are considered. It is pointed out that for symmetrical molecules the band determined by the breathing mode must be most enhanced. Besides, the bands determined by the vibrations, transforming according to the unitary irreducible representation, and by the representation which describes the transformational properties of the moment d z , will be enhanced also.
