Painlevé property analysis as a tool to ascertain the control parameters of a model food chain

Summary: | In this paper, we perform a Painlevé property analysis of a simple model food chain containing ten parameters. We have been able to obtain a reduction of the multiparameter space to a two-parameter space satisfying conditions. The usefulness of this analysis is that one immediately obtains information on the key parameters governing the dynamical behaviour of the system concerned. Our analytical findings are well supported by the numerical experiments. The work reported in this paper might be helpful in future ecological modelling and for that matter for the study of any model of any physical system. |
