An atom laser based on dark-state cooling

We present a model for an atom laser. A thermal beam of Λ atoms tunnels in through one end of a trap, in which the atoms are subject to dark-state cooling. The ground mode of the trap becomes macroscopically populated. The beam which tunnels out is approximately all-order coherent.
