The use of interferometry of measure flow characteristics of an oscillating draining film

A novel method to study the flow characteristics of thin liquid films draining down an oscillating vertical surface is presented. A Mach-Zehnder interferometer was used to measure changes in film thickness and parameters such as local gradient at the film surface were derived. The measurements were...

Description
Summary:A novel method to study the flow characteristics of thin liquid films draining down an oscillating vertical surface is presented. A Mach-Zehnder interferometer was used to measure changes in film thickness and parameters such as local gradient at the film surface were derived. The measurements were found to be consistent with previous theoretical predictions.
