Description
Summary:The densities and the viscosity coefficients of TNT, PETN and RDX in propylene oxide solutions were measured in the temperature region 283.15 – 303.15 K. Measurements were performed to cover the concentration range from the infinite dilution to the 90% saturated solutions at the lowest temparature studied. An analytical expression is given enabling the calculation of the solution densities as a function of temperature and concentration. The calculated densities are in agreement with the experimental data to within 0.2%. The apparent molar volumes were calculated for each investigated solute and the obtained values were compared with the values for molar crystal volumes. On the basis of the experimental data the viscosity coefficients B and D were calculated using equation η r = 1 + Bm + Dm 2.
