Summary:A non-exhaustive review is given of the important achievements of the last thirty years in the field of fluid phase equilibria. A selection has been made whereby special attention is given to phenomena which can be observed close to the critical region of mixtures. The language is that of PT-projections. Brief reference is made to the practical significance as well as to the theoretical understanding of the discussed subjects. This completes the triangle of observation, understanding and application.
