Summary:A 3.8 cm diameter bench scale fluid bed retort was used to study the effects of varied bed temperature and fluidization velocity at atmospheric pressure on the distribution of pyrolysis products from Kentucky oil shales. Fluidization velocity was varied from 28 to 44 m/min at steady state bed temperatures from 500 to 625°C.
