Summary: | A phenomenological extended thermodynamics theory for non-ideal gases is formulated. In this theory 13 basic fields of density, velocity, pressure tensor and heat flux are considered.
The coefficients in the representations of the constitutive quantities are obtained in terms of the virial coefficients of the thermal equation of state and of the free energy density.
The laws of Fourier and Navier-Stokes follow from an iteration method akin to the Maxwellian iteration in the kinetic theory of gases. |
