Description
Summary:Two new picosecond transient spectroscopic techniques have been devised for studying vibrations in real time in thin films of conducting polymers. Picosecond ultrasonics has been used for measuring acoustical phonon dispersion relation in polythiophene and polyacetylene in the frequency range of 1 to 500 GHz. Picosecond photoinduced resonant Raman scattering (RRS) has been applied to polydiacetylene and polyacetylene for measuring the excited states dynamics and to achieve phonon hole burning.
