Pion production in the reactions [formula omitted] and [formula omitted]

Differential ground-state capture cross sections have been measured at 0° and T p = 600 MeV for the reactions d( p, π +) t, 3 He( p, π +) 4 He and 4 He( p, π +) 5 He . The cross sections are found to be large, of the order of 10 ωb/sr in c.m.s. in fair agreement with recent predictions.
