Summary:We have made a search for charmed particles among strange particle production events in neutron-proton interactions up to 24 GeV/ c. We have found no evidence of long-lived ‘cascade’ decays not of statistically significant peaks in effective mass distributions, and have quoted upper limits on the production cross sections of such particles in the mass range 1.5 to 5.0 GeV/ c 2.
