The carbonyl frequency of N,N-dimethylpyridazin-3,6-dione

The Raman spectrum of N-N-dimethyl pyridazia-3,6-dione, by revealing ν 3 CO as a band at 1682 cm −1, helps to explain its anomalously low reported i.r. carbonyl frequency; the latter is ν as CO. Other assignments are suggested.
