Description
Summary:An inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometer (ICP-MS) was used to measure isotope ratios of lead and thallium. Significant variations in the measured ratios were found as a function of varying (B) lens settings and sample flow rates. No significant effect with changing analyte concentration was observed. The use of thallium as an internal isotope ratio standard is introduced. Poisson counting statistics is shown to be a minor component in the measured error in ratios at high analyte concentrations.
