Description
Summary:A mathematical model for an enclosed inductively coupled plasma (EICP) is developed for configurations important for spectrochemical analysis. The model, based on steady state, laminar flow, axial symmetry and local thermodynamic equilibrium assumptions, accounts for natural convection and radiative transfer effects. The computer simulations based in this model provide information about the temperature, flow, and electromagnetic fields for spherical and cylindrical discharge configurations.
