Summary: | In this paper are summarized the results of a passive solar retrofitting design in a historic building in Athens, Greece. The design strategies necessary to incorporate passive solar components into a neoclassical building are described. The thermal efficiency of the combined system is studied and it is proved that energy savings for retrofitting design can be very important. Finally the practicabilities of solar retrofitting in existing residential dwellings are discussed. |
