Scattering of carriers from confined and interface phonons of a quantum wire

We study the scattering of free carriers confined to a circular quantum wire from optical phonons via Fröhlich coupling. Confinement and interface effects on phonon modes are taken into account. A GaAs wire embedded in AlAs is taken as an example. Rates for scattering from confined and IF phonons ar...

Description
Summary:We study the scattering of free carriers confined to a circular quantum wire from optical phonons via Fröhlich coupling. Confinement and interface effects on phonon modes are taken into account. A GaAs wire embedded in AlAs is taken as an example. Rates for scattering from confined and IF phonons are given as functions of initial state electron energies and wire radius.
