Synthesis and superconducting properties of (Bi,Pb)[sbnd]Sr[sbnd]Ca[sbnd]Cu[sbnd]O system

Effect of Pb and Sb substitution for Bi was studied on Bi compounds of 2212 and 2223 phases. In the 2212 phase, the value of Tc decreases down to 60 K by Pb substitution, while no appreciable change was observed in the X-ray diffraction pattern. The highest Tc of 106 K was obtained for the sample wi...

Description
Summary:Effect of Pb and Sb substitution for Bi was studied on Bi compounds of 2212 and 2223 phases. In the 2212 phase, the value of Tc decreases down to 60 K by Pb substitution, while no appreciable change was observed in the X-ray diffraction pattern. The highest Tc of 106 K was obtained for the sample with nominal composition Bi1.5Pb0.5Sr2Ca2Cu3Oy. The upper and lower critical fields were measured for this sample. The slope of Hc2 and Hc1 near Tc is estimated to be −15 kOe/K and −4.1 Oe/K, respectively.
