Interlayer distance and magnetic properties of Hg-based superconductors

Magnetic properties of the mercury-based superconductors of Hg(Sr)1201, Hg(Sr)1212 and Hg(Ba,Sr)1212 were studied. The strontium substitution for barium was found to be effective to improve the pinning properties for both systems. This is believed to be accomplished by a decrease of the interlayer d...

Description
Summary:Magnetic properties of the mercury-based superconductors of Hg(Sr)1201, Hg(Sr)1212 and Hg(Ba,Sr)1212 were studied. The strontium substitution for barium was found to be effective to improve the pinning properties for both systems. This is believed to be accomplished by a decrease of the interlayer distance, i.e. the thickness of the blocking layer, by strontium substitution.
