Summary:The synthesis of palladium(II) chelate monomers involving 1-phenyl-4-methylpent-4-en-1,3-dione and 1 phenyl-3-anilino-4-methylpent-4-en-1-one has been developed. New polymer-containing metal chelate units have been prepared by post-grafting polymerization of these monomers and the products characterized by elemental analysis and IR spectroscopy. The catalytic properties of the immobilized complexes in chloronitrobenzene hydrogenation have been studied.
