Summary: | The Verdet constants and temperature characteristics of seven domestically produced optical glasses have been determined. Two types of magneto-optical sensors for the measurement of pulsed current produced in high-power pulse facilities have been built and tested. Test results indicate that the current sensors have a response time of approximately 300 ns, dynamic ranges of 1 to 45 kA and 0.1 to 25 kA, and current responsivities of 0.2 and 0.5 V/kA, respectively. When the sensors are employed in an electrically noisy environment, they yield very clean results with practically no EMI effect. |
