Preparation of hydrogel/conducting polymer composites

The electropolymerisation of a conducting electroactive polymer (polypyrrole) within a hydrogel matrix has been investigated. Using appropriate conditions a conductive electroactive polymer can be formed and the composite structure retains the hydration/rehydration properties of the hydrogel.
