Measurement of the composition of some liquid mixtures using the simultaneous transmission of neutrons and gamma rays (neugat) method

The Neugat method has been used to measure the composition of industrially and environmentally important liquid mixtures which may be difficult to measure by other means. For example, where components have similar densities and the composition is difficult to determine by weighing. In certain cases...

Description
Summary:The Neugat method has been used to measure the composition of industrially and environmentally important liquid mixtures which may be difficult to measure by other means. For example, where components have similar densities and the composition is difficult to determine by weighing. In certain cases measurement may be required automatically and on-line in difficult access areas. The method is demonstrated for mixtures of ethyl alcohol/water, ethyl alcohol/beer, salt water/fresh water and unleaded petrol (gasoline)/leaded petrol (gasoline) mixtures.
