Summary: | At room temperature, reduction with tin(II) and aeration, are suitable for quantitative separation of microgram quantities of mercury (II) from sulfuric and nitric acid solutions over wide ranges of concentrations Mercury is concentrated during the separation, and is determined by a direct photometric dithizone procedure. This technique is applicable for 0.10 μg mercury per sample charge with a standard deviation for a single determination of 0.05 μg mercury in the o to 0.5 μg range.
